Reminder: 1 day before
Ends: 01:15pm (duration is about 4 hours)

There will be a Pre-Practice tomorrow with the Offensive Linemen, Y’s, and H’s on the field at 9:45.

There will also be pre-practice for Long Snapper’s, Punters, and Punt Returners. We haven’t picked the Punt Returners, so we’ll have a mini Try-Out for each level. If you’re a WR or RB feel free to give a shot!! It’s one of the toughest position’s to play during a Football Game. It’s not easy to have to catch a ball high in the air while also having to see the 5-9 tacklers sprinting at you. The Punt Returner has to have great vision and understand how to use his eyes to maintain focus on the ball, get his body in a position to catch the ball on the run, while also being able to “see” the tacklers coming to you because if you look at them you’ll lose your tracking of the ball, and then you have to make the catch and gain positive yards! If you like a good challenge, this may be right up your alley!! The Spartans have always considered the player to play this position to have a lot of courage. The also expect him to be able to try and catch every ball. A Punt Return for a TD is also one of the more exciting plays in a football game, due to the low percentage of it actually occurring, and because it can change the momentum of the game. Remember that whenever a Punt Return Team blocks a Punt or has a Punt Return for a TD they win 80% of the time! Hopefully we’ll have enough WR’s and RB’s interested so that we can make it competitive tomorrow during the Try-Out’s!
